He is also a skilled speaker to camera, having featured prominently in a major documentary by Johnny Gogan on the Irish essayist Hubert Butler, Witness to the Future. He appears regularly on BBC and RTÉ radio both as a reviewer and in his role as Editor of Irish Pages.

He can also provide face-to-face editorial feedback on writing (including mentoring for younger writers) by prior arrangement.
